Nagpur: A 32-year-old alleged bookie, Satish Devangan, was caught by the crime branch from an apartment at Telipura on Monday. The cops seized three mobile phones, a router and a tab from him. It’s learnt the crime branch cops zeroed down in on Devangan when he was accepting bets on the ongoing IPL matches. He was later handed over to the Lakadganj police station.
Man booked for extortionA 25-year-old man, Yagnesh Kolte, was booked for extortion following a complaint lodged by his former manager Rakesh Dwivedi on Sunday. Kolte had ransacked the petrol pump opposite Swami Narayan Mandir near Wathoda Ring Road. It’s learnt Kolte had filled petrol at the pump, where he used to work earlier. When asked to pay for the fuel, he had started threatening Dwivedi of dire consequences holding him responsible for him losing Rs35,000. Dwivedi approached Wathoda police station and lodged a report against Kolte. tnn
