UDAIPUR: Upset with frequent breakdown and frustrated by poor after sales services, a car owner on Tuesday got his vehicle pulled by two donkeys to the dealer accompanied by drums. The video of the car being pulled went viral and became the talk of the town.
According to Raj Kumar Gayari, a resident of Sundarwas area in Udaipur, his uncle Shankarlal had bought a new car worth Rs 17.50 lakh from the showroom in Madri Industrial area of Udaipur. The car had frequent technical glitches which were reported to the authorised service centre. Attempts to contact dealers to rectify the problem brought little respite and caused more frustration.
The car was brought twice to the service centre and no satisfactory solution was provided by the dealer.
In the last two days during a family function, the car had to be pushed several times to start, said Raj Kumar. When the service centre was contacted, the representatives said the problem is because of a rundown battery and advised him to drive the car for some distance so that the battery gets charged. Despite all the efforts, the problem persisted. "After all the trauma that we went through, we finally decided to bring back the car to the showroom," he added. The car is currently in the showroom. The owner has demanded its replacement.
In its defence, the representative of the showroom said the owner had carried out some modifications on the car which is the reason for the electrical faults. "We are trying to resolve the issue," he added.
