    Ukraine to supply Mi-17 helicopter engines and spare parts to Pakistan

    Pakistan has signed a deal worth $1.5 million to take supplies of Mi-17 helicopter engines and spare parts for the helicopters, ET has learnt. Ukrainian defence company Motor Sich JSC will make supplies to the Pakistan military, ET has reliably learnt.

    Ukraine and Pakistan are upgrading their defence partnership with Kiev launching the process to supply Mi-17 helicopter engines and auxiliary spare parts to Pakistan military in lieu of Islamabad's regular supply of defence equipment and tanks to Ukraine via European states.

    Pakistan has signed a deal worth $1.5 million to take supplies of Mi-17 helicopter engines and spare parts for the helicopters, ET has learnt. Ukrainian defence company Motor Sich JSC will make supplies to the Pakistan military, ET has reliably learnt.

    ET had recently reported that in return for defence supplies, Ukraine promised Pakistan assistance to upgrade its Mi-17 helicopters. A Ukrainian firm involved with manufacturing of aircraft engines as well as industrial marine gas turbines is assisting Pakistan in upgrading the helicopters, ET had earlier reported.

    Ukraine and Pakistan share close military and industrial ties. Pakistan had purchased more than 320 Ukrainian T-80UD tanks in service with a fully formed ecosystem for their upkeep, use, ammunition and spare parts. Between 1991 and 2020, Ukraine concluded arms contracts worth nearly $1.6 billion with Pakistan.
