Delhi: DPS School Mathura Road gets email about 'bomb threat', cops carry out checks
The threat was received via e-mail.
NEW DELHI: Delhi Public School, Mathura Road on Wednesday received a bomb threat via email, reports news agency ANI quoting the Delhi Fire Service.
The school was evacuated and the fire department was informed about the threat at around 8am.
Soon after receiving the information, cops rushed to the school. Ambulance and police vans were seen entering the top city school.
No threat or suspicious object has been found on the school premises yet, said Rajesh Deo, DCP South East. "The situation is normal. Bomb Disposal Squad, dog squad and SWAT team sanitising the school buildings," Deo added.
This comes days after another school in Delhi had received a similar threat.
The Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar had received bomb threats twice -- in April this year and in November 2022. The most recent threat was made on April 12 via an email, following which the school was evacuated as the bomb squad and other agencies inspected the premises for any explosive substance. The mail was later declared a hoax.
