Visakhapatnam Police recovers property worth Rs 20 lakh

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Police in Andhra Pradesh recovered gold and silver besides cash worth around Rs 20 lakh in five cases in the limits of Fourth Town police station and PM Palem police station.
Police formed special teams to nab the accused persons and successfully recovered the stolen property.
The Crime Wing DCP Naganna said that Fourth Town police nabbed Nalla Swati Kumar (30) of Railway New Colony and native of Rajam mandal in Srikakulam district.
They recovered 186.5 grams of gold ornaments worth around Rs 9.5 lakh.
Kumar is a plumber, part time electrician-cum-AC installation helper.
He was involved in another crime by stealing around four tolas gold ornaments and 400 grams of silver items in another case.
PM Palem police arrested a woman, Patti Durga, who supplied mineral water cans. She committed an offence to meet her lavish expenses.
She stole the gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh in a flat close to a cricket stadium in PM Palem.
The married woman admitted that the earnings of her husband were not sufficient to meet both ends and pay a loan of Rs 9 lakh they had taken for her father’s medical treatment.
Fourth Town police station police arrested a clerk in real estate office V Suryanarayana (28) of Setammapeta area for stealing Rs 9.05 lakh cash from his office.
Based on the complaint of real estate partners Bandaru Ravi and G Naidu, police arrested Suryanarayana and recovered the money.
