Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:44AM

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 8.19%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 5.87%), KIOCL(up 4.70%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.96%), Lexus Granito(up 1.78%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.58%), MOIL(up 1.53%), 20 Microns(up 0.96%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.09%) were among the top gainers.

Pokarna(down 5.62%), Coal India(down 0.69%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.53%) and Ashapura Minechem(down 0.28%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 7.1 points down at 17762.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 2.08 points at 60132.79 at around 10:44AM.

Eicher Motors(up 1.62%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.25%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.2%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.85%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.75%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.74%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.67%), Axis Bank(up 0.63%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.59%) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.56%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 1.44%), JSW Steel(down 0.97%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.8%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.76%), Coal India(down 0.76%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.69%), Reliance Industries(down 0.68%), NTPC(down 0.61%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.59%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.51%) were trading in the red.
