Gujarat Industries Power(up 19.95%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 5.75%), NHPC(up 5.23%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.58%), Adani Power(up 2.77%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.32%), SJVN(up 2.31%), CESC(up 1.75%), Indowind Energy(up 1.36%) and Hitachi Energy India(up 1.35%) stood among the top gainers.
Adani Transmissions(down 2.48%), Karma Energy(down 2.25%), Energy Development Company(down 1.48%), KEC International(down 1.39%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.16%), Inox Wind Energy(down 0.91%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 0.87%), NTPC(down 0.73%), Inox wind(down 0.71%) and ADANIGREEN(down 0.70%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 44.35 points up at 17813.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 169.87 points at 60300.58.
Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.32%), Nestle India(up 1.75%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.67%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.43%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.25%), HCL Technologies(up 1.15%), SBI Life(up 1.13%), Axis Bank(up 1.06%), Tata Motors(up 0.98%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.94%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 1.16%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.01%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.0%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.82%), NTPC(down 0.73%), Reliance Industries(down 0.59%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.57%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.32%), Wipro(down 0.29%) and Coal India(down 0.22%) closed in the red.
