CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited for installation of ballastless tracks on corridor-3 of phase-2 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur.
A release said CMRL issued letter of acceptance to Larsen & Toubro Limited recently for an amount of Rs 299 crore.
“The scope of the contract involves supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track of standard gauge including all associated works in underground and elevated sections from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur of corridor-3,” the release said.
The contract issued was part of JICA funding for phase-2. This is the last track tender awarded for phase-2.
T Archunan, director (projects), CMRL, and Sunil Khattar, vice-president, head-metro business unit, L&T signed the contract agreement.
