111 criminals arrested, drugs seized in Barmer

Jaisalmer: Under its campaign Vajrapat against organised crimes, Barmer police on Monday raided 217 places and arrested 111 criminals and recovered 59kg doda post, 400gm opium, 950gm opium milk and Rs 1.33 lakh cash and five vehicles. Barmer SP Digant Anand said 67 teams were formed in the district in which 284 police officers and constables identified various places of the criminals and raided 217 hideouts and arrested 111 criminals including 33 wanted in different cases, five with standing warrants, 38 warranties and 29 suspicious persons and 6 in local and special Act cases.
He said Gudamalani police arrested Mangaram resident of Ambaliyara and recovered 21kg Doda post, 400gm opium and 950gm opium milk valuing to Rs 2.50 lakh and lodged a case under NDPS Act. Similarly, Balotra police arrested Teyab Khan and Shakoor Khan for transporting 16kg Doda post in a Bolero and recovered Rs 1,33,400 and lodged a case under NDPS Act. tnn
