Max temp drops by 1C, light rain likely

Panaji: The summer heat was slightly tolerable on Wednesday after the maximum temperature reduced by one degree Celsius, bringing it down to 33.6C at Panaji and 33.2C at Mormugao. The India meteorological department (IMD) earlier said that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35C and 25C, respectively.
The department has attributed its forecast of light rain and thunderstorms at isolated places over Goa in the coming days to the influence of a trough formation, wind discontinuity and possible moisture incursion at the lower-mid levels.
Dry weather prevailed over the state on Wednesday and haze was reported at isolated places.
The weather may change slightly with light rain and thundershowers at isolated places on Thursday. Light rain and thundershowers are also very likely at isolated places on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No large change in maximum temperature is expected for the next four to five days.
