BENGALURU: A young woman jumped off a moving motorbike in Bengaluru to escape from an alleged molestation bid by the Rapido driver, reports news agency ANI.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms.
The accused driver, identified as Deepak Rao, allegedly took her phone on pretext of checking OTP & started driving towards wrong direction.
The police after receiving a complaint from the woman and checking the CCTV footage from the area arrested the accused. He has been sent to judicial custody.
The incident occurred on April 21, when at around 11pm the woman booked a Rapido bike to reach Indiranagar in the city.
The accused after taking her phone started to move towards Doddaballapur Road instead of Indiranagar.
On being questioned by the woman, he started to speed after which the woman jumped off from the vehicle near BMS College in Nagenahalli near Yelahanka.
She suffered injuries on hands and legs.
Further investigations in the case is under way.
