Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:21AM

K.M.Sugar Mills(up 1.19%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.15%), EID Parry(up 1.03%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.95%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.91%), AVADHSUGAR(up 0.88%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 0.84%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.78%), Rana Sugars(up 0.64%) and Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers.

Simbhaoli Sugars(down 1.99%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.69%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 0.97%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.36%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.26%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.20%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.20%) and Mawana Sugars(down 0.10%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 8.75 points up at 17778.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 44.1 points at 60174.81 at around 11:21AM.

Eicher Motors(up 1.68%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.12%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.06%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.05%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.94%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.87%), SBI Life(up 0.85%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.82%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.79%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 1.17%), JSW Steel(down 1.03%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.94%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.88%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.82%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.64%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.61%), Reliance Industries(down 0.59%), NTPC(down 0.58%) and Coal India(down 0.52%) were trading in the red.
