Karnataka: Yogi Adityanath to hold rallies today
He will be in the North Vijayapura in the afternoon, where Yogi will offer his prayers at the Basaveshwara temple and later campaign for the saffron party in Basavana Bagewadi municipality.

In the run up to the state assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister to arrive in Karnataka today to campaign for the BJP.
The BJP has been pushing its campaign hard with all of its top brass leaders in the field campaigning to ask the votes for returning back to power in the southern state.
Yogi, the star campaigner of the BJP will be holding four rallies in the poll bound state.
As per reports, UP CM Yogi will fly from Lucknow to Mysuru, where he will address rallies in Mandya – a Gowda heartland and Vijayapura.
He will be in the North Vijayapura in the afternoon, where Yogi will offer his prayers at the Basaveshwara temple and later campaign for the saffron party in Basavana Bagewadi municipality.

He will also address a public gathering in the Indi town of the state.
Yogi Adityanath’s visit is being seen as a move by the BJP to attract a majority Vokkaliga vote bank, which has been held by the Congress and JD(S) for a long time and BJP, a Lingayat backed party is trying its luck hard this time to woo the Vokkaliga community.
All senior leaders of both BJP and Congress are playing thier roles in this election and a tough contest can be seen on the ground.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi who arrived the poll bound state on Tuesday addressed various rallies in Vijayapura and is expected to address more later today.
This election is being seen crucial for both the national parties as one aims to retain the power and continue ruling the major southern state, while another is confident enough make the ruling party taste the defeat.
A total of 2,613 candidates are in fray as per the Election Commission and the state is set to go for the polls on May 10, the counting will be on May 13.

As the Karnataka assembly election intensifies, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to step into the campaigning for her party. Gandhi is likely to campaign in the Old Mysuru region today.
The Congress leader will arrive in Karntaka today to mark her first official campaign for the state assembly elections, Gandhi is likely to woo the Vokkaliga community as she will visit parts of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, which comes under the Old Mysuru region considered to be a Vokkaliga dominated region.
As per reports, Gandhi will hold a roadshow in K R Pete in Mysuru and will take part in a women convention program in the Chamarajanagar district.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has been actively campaigning for the BJP in the poll bound state was in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar district on Monday, where Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to visit.

On Monday, the deadline set by the Election Commission for the withdrawal of candidature for the elections ended, as per the ECI data a total of 2,613 candidates are in fray for the polls, while 517 candidates who filed their nomination withdrew their name.
The southern state is set to go to polls on May 10.
A tough contest is being seen in the ground especially between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, with both the parties mounting attacks, blame on each other on various issues.
With anti-incumbency against the current BS Bommai government, BJP is high on hopes to retain the state for a second term with absolute majority. While Congress, on the other side is confident of taking back the power from the ruling party.
Big questions lie ahead of this elections, but all of it is going to be answered by the voters on the polling day and the results of which will be out on May 13.

The Karnataka elections scheduled for May 10 has got the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress swung into full action with all of the national and state political leaders being seen tough in the ground campaigning for their respective parties.

On Monday, amid the Karnataka state assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a massive roadshow in Karnataka.
Shah held a roadshow with hundreds and thousands of BJP workers and the public joining him in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district in Gundlupete.
The key strategist of the the ruling party is on a three day visit to the election bound state starting Sunday. Earlier today, he also visited Sri Chamundeshwari Devi temple in Karnataka’s Mysuru.

This election stands very crucial for the BJP as its the only southern state where the party is in power currently and it holds high hopes putting all its hard work for a second term amid the anti-incumbency.
This election is also being seen as a test round ahead of the 2024 general elections, which can give an indication towards how significantly is the party present among its voters in the southern region.
It is leaving no stone unturned to retain the state, the BJP president JP Nadda is scheduled for a three day visit to the state from today with various roadshows, public rally’s in agenda.
The mega election campaign of BJP is going to start with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit who is likely to embark on April 29 and will campaign in Chikodi, Kittur and Belagavi along with the Uttara Kannada district. PM Modi will also again be on Karnataka on May 03.

Rahul Gandhi, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle to regain his MP status after being disqualified from the Lok Sabha following his conviction and sentence in a criminal defamation case, was seen standing atop a specially designed vehicle, waving at an enthusiastic crowd that had greeted the Gandhi scion amid deafening cheers and slogans in favour of the Congress leader.
The former Congress president kicked off his roadshow after garlanding a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Vijayapura and moved across town amid a sea of Congress supporters lined up on either side of the road on the route.
Congress supporters and workers carrying the grand old party’s flag walked along as Gandhi accompanied by other leaders of the party traversed the streets from Shivaji Circle and Kanakadasa Circle amid loud cheers, sounds of drum beats and deafening sloganeering.
Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Karnataka Congress campaign committee chief M B Patil and several other party leaders and workers on the road show.

Earlier today, Gandhi began his two-day visit to election-bound Karnataka from Kudala Sangama, where he paid obeisance to 12th-century poet and social reformer Basaveshwara on his birth anniversary, celebrated as Basava Jayanti.
Meanwhile, the Congress, which seeks to oust the BJP from power in Karnataka, announced today that the Communist Party of India (CPI) will, without any pre-conditions, back the Congress on 215 seats in next month’s Assembly elections.
Addressing a presser earlier today, senior party leader Randeep Surjewala said the Congress reached out to the CPI— who recently announced their support for the grand old party in the May 10 polls— and it was agreed that the entire CPI cadre will “whole-heartedly without any pre-condition or expectation” support the Congress candidates in their battle to oust the ruling BJP from power.
Karnataka goes to polls on May 10 and results for the 224-member Assembly will be announced on May 13.
