Action in 39 cases based on cVIGIL plaints in B’gavi

Belagavi: The Election Commission has acted against MCC violations in 39 cases, in Belagavi district, based on the complaints registered by the people on cVIGIL app. According to district election officer Nitesh Patil, cVIGIL has been working on complaints against illegal activities related to election. a total of 53 complaints have been received so far through the app.
The complaints received are related to cash distribution, pasting posters, installing banners near residences and streets without adequate permissions, using vehicles for publicity without permission, distribution of freebies, using and distributing liquor and narcotic drugs, distribution of gold, silver articles etc.
The officials are responding immediately to such complaints, he explained. People can download the cVIGIL app from Google Play store and upload photos and videos in cVIGIL app. TNN
