K Chandrasekhar Rao vows Telangana schemes at third Maharashtra rally in 2 months
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Monday that his party would withdraw all "controversial decisions" taken by the Centre if they are voted to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Monday that his party would withdraw all "controversial decisions" taken by the Centre if they are voted to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He alleged that the Centre was trying to privatise the electricity sector, while the BRS believed in nationalisation. He also announced that if elected, his party would provide drinking water to every household in Maharashtra within five years and ensure every acre is irrigated.
The BRS president made the announcements while addressing a well-attended public meeting at Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad). This is his third meeting in Maharashtra after Nanded and Loha in the past two months,
The pink party has already announced that it would contest the Maharashtra local body elections. KCR urged people to elect BRS in all the zilla parishad (ZP) elections in the state. "If BRS wins, you will get Telangana schemes automatically," he said.
In his speech, KCR spoke about welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana, such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima (insurance scheme), Dalit Bandhu, 24x7 free power to the agriculture sector, and drinking water to every household.
BRS for qualitative change: KCR in Maharashtra
BRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday raised local issues of Sambhajinagar, such as the drinking water problem.
"When Maharashtra is blessed with many rivers such as Godavari, Krishna, Penganga and many rivulets, why should the people suffer from drinking water shortages?" he asked. The CM urged his Maharashtra counterpart to implement Rythu Bandhu by giving Rs 10,000 per acre to farmers annually to stop them from dying by suicide.
KCR also took potshots at Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who asked him why he kept coming to Maharashtra. "Implement all the welfare schemes from Telangana in toto. I won't come to this state as my work will be done. I will go to Madhya Pradesh," he said. He attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not resolving basic issues, not fulfilling the promises made after withdrawing the controversial three farm laws. He also stressed that BRS was formed to bring qualitative change in the country and vowed to continue his fight despite facing hurdles in his journey.
"When Telangana could develop in water supply, power generation and other sectors, why can't other states?" he asked. "Earlier, I said 'dal mein kuch kala hai'. Now I say 'dal hi kali hai'," the BRS president said. KCR also demanded that the Prime Minister name the new Parliament building after BR Ambedkar saying that Telangana had named the new secretariat after the Dalit icon.
