Heavy rain with strong winds brings relief in scorching April

Kanpur: The month of April which is otherwise known for harsh weather conditions is giving quite a different experience to the denizens. For the past few days, clouds had been hovering over city skies and on Monday these clouds brought in heavy rains. These were accompanied with gusty storm, high velocity winds and lightning.
Dense and dark black clouds enveloped the skies. Soon, it began to drizzle and later, city witnessed heavy rains and mighty winds. Such a weather left people surprised. Usually in the month of April, day temperature soars beyond 40 degrees and there isn’t any relief from the scorching heat.
The highest temperature of the season was recorded on April 17. On this day, the day temperature recorded was a high of 42 degree celsius. It was then 3.6 degrees more than the normal value. On the other days in the month, day temperature remained below 40 degrees and it was therefore, moderately hot.
But what city experienced on Monday was quite different. The day temperature which had been staying between 33 and 37 degrees further plunged to just 25 degree celsius. On Sunday, the day temperature was about 35 degrees. There was a fall of 10 degree celsius in maximum temperature on Monday. Meanwhile, winds caused power disruption at several places in city. Although power was restored in due course of time. The Met department of CSA university stated that in next five days (till April 28), clouds would continue to cover the city skies and there are chances of light rains. The Met said that the city on Monday received 14 mm of rains. Also strong winds may blew in the region.
