Verizon Earnings Arrive as Industry Growth Cools

Verizon Communications will report its first-quarter earnings on Tuesday, offering investors a preview into growth as competition in the telecommunication arena swells.

Rival AT&T (ticker: T) last week posted results that showed consumer demand waning. The company’s first-quarter gain of 424,000 in postpaid subscribers—people who pay for phone and internet services via a monthly bill—was its lowest tally since early in the pandemic.
