Nagpur: Vidarbha Vikas Aghadi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have joined have hands to raise the demand for separate Vidarbha state and take up issues concerning the people of the region. This was announced at a press conference organized by the two outfits on Monday.
Vidarbha Vikas Aghadi has been working for the last several years for creation of separate Vidarbha state. AAP too is in favour of formation of smaller states, it was informed at the press conference.
Big parties that were earlier leading the statehood movement with us for a separate Vidarbha have come to power, but the region still remains backward, said members of the Vidarbha Vika Aghadi.
AAP members claimed that in both Delhi and Punjab, where the party has formed governments, many innovative social welfare schemes have been successfully implemented.
AAP Vidarbha convener Devendra Wankhede, Vidarbha Vikas Aghadi president Anil Jawade and other office bearers were present at the press conference.
