Thiruvananthapuram: The special deputy collector land acquisition (NH) and the competent authority have issued 3D notification to acquire land for the outer ring road project for three revenue villages. Objections regarding the land earmarked for the acquisition have been received and a report was sent to the Union government.
With the issuance of 3D notification under the relevant section of the National Highways Act, the Union government has declared that the land marked for acquisition shall vest entirely with the Central government free of all encumbrances. The notification also gives timings for enquiry on schedule of land mentioned in the gazette for Kulathummal, Balaramapuram and Pallichal villages. Land measuring 21 hectares spreading across 653 survey numbers will be acquired for the project in these revenue villages.
The southern part of the proposed alignment of the outer ring road is divided into two sections. Section 1 begins at Thekkada and ends at Vizhinjam and section 2 begins at Thekkada and ends at Mangalapuram. The proposed road passes through Manickal, Vembayam, Poovathoor and Aruvikkara villages of Nedumangad taluk; Vilappil, Kattakada, Maranalloor and Malayinkeezhu villages in Kattakada taluk; Pallichal, Balaramapuram and Vizhinjam villages of Neyyattinkara taluk and Mangalapuram, Andoorkonam, Pothencode and Venganoor villages of Thiruvananthapuram taluk.
