Teen fatally shoots mom and himself at their Tucson apartment, police say

Tucson police believe a teenager fatally shot his mom and then himself after both of them were found dead inside their apartment in east Tucson on Friday morning, police said.

Police said they received a 911 call at about 10 a.m. about a family that was found unresponsive inside their home near Golf Links and Houghton roads. When officers arrived, they found two dead people with gunshot wounds identified as Brittany Sutherland, 37, and her 15-year-old son Miguel Ubri, police said.

After investigating police concluded Ubri shot and killed his mother and then himself.

Police said there were no outstanding suspects.

The investigation was ongoing. No further details were available.
