GNIDA set to allow construction on 55% of an industrial plot
Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority
NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has decided to allow construction on 55% area of an industrial plot. The move followed a clearance from the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Ltd, which develops industrial plots.
The proposal to allow construction on 55% area was tabled at the 129th board meeting of the GNIDA on Friday. Officials said that according to the building bylaws of GNIDA, which are applicable for the industrial plots too, construction is allowed only on 35% of the land that has been allotted to a company.
For long, industry owners had been demanding that the construction area be increased to make the allotments feasible. Many had met GNIDA officials with their demand. The Authority, too, felt that the 35% ceiling was proving to be a hurdle in attracting interested companies. So, the issue was taken up at the board meeting.
Now that the board has given its approval, the GNIDA will seek feedback and suggestions from people on the ground coverage of industrial plots. Once the suggestions are made, the proposal will be sent to the state government. The building bylaws can be amended only after the government gives its approval.
