DC gets threat call, abused; South police book case

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Ravi Kumar MR received a threat call on his mobile number on Thursday. Mangaluru South police have registered a case in this connection.
The caller, who made a call from ‘7353998242’, allegedly used abusive language while talking to the DC. Police said the DC had received the threat call while he was holding a meeting with the election observers at his office on April 20.
Woman who attempted suicide dies
A newly-married woman, who attempted to end her life by suicide, died at Indabettu in Belthangady. Police said the deceased is Kaushalya, daughter of Devaki from Koppadakodi. She had allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison on April 20. She was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru. However, she failed to respond to the treatment and died on Saturday, they said.
