Advocate and Chairman of Bar Council of India, Manan Kumar Mishra on April 24 talked to the media regarding the issue of same sex marriage in India. Notably, the Bar Council of India passed a resolution opposing legal recognition of same-sex marriages in the nation. He said that the matter should be decided in the Parliament rather than any Court of law. He said, “Nation’s socio-religious culture does not allow such a thing. It is a matter for the Parliament to decide and not the Courts. The matter should be deliberated upon in the Parliament.”
