Tight vigil in UP's Kanpur as Hanuman idol vandalised

KANPUR: Tension prevailed in Kanpur Dehat’s Akbarpur area after an idol of Lord Hanuman was vandalised on Saturday. Heavy police force has been deplyoyed near the Shukla Talab area, which comes under the limits of Akbarpur police station.
Kanpur Dehat district additional superintendent of police Rajesh Pandey said, “Some part of the Lord Hanuman idol installed on the Shiva temple premises in Shukla Talab area in Akbarpur was found damaged. Forensic team has conducted an investigation and a case has been registered against unidentified miscreants. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for vandalism.” “We have also procured video footage from surrounding area and it is being scanned to zero in on the miscreants,” ASP added.
