Ticket booking begins for Vande Bharat Express

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The bookings for Vande Bharat Express train service have begun in the state. After releasing the timetable of the train on Saturday, the Southern Railway released the ticket rates on Sunday.
The total seating capacity of the train will be 1,000 of which 914 will be chair car and 86 seats will be executive chair car. The train number will be 20633 for the travel from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram and 20634 will be the train number for the one which travels from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. The first train service from Kasaragod will start on April 26 and the first from Thiruvananthapuram will start on April 28. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train on April 25 from Thiruvananthapuram. The inaugural train will run as a special train with more stops in all districts it covers.
As per the rates published, the chair car rate for travelling up to Kasaragod from Thiruvananthapuram will be Rs 1,590 and for executive chair car it will be Rs 2,880. For the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam stretch, the ticket rates will be Rs 765 and Rs 1,420 for the chair car and executive chair car respectively.
