AYODHYA: Water of 155 rivers brought from seven continents around the globe was offered to the upcoming Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Sunday afternoon.
The members of an NGO, called Delhi Study Group, led by former BJP MLA Vijay Jolly, offered the water from 155 containers bearing the names of the river and country, to the walls and floor of the under-construction temple in the presence of a group of foreign envoys and NRIs from over 40 countries.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who were invited as special guests to the event, could not attend it due to various reasons.
Jolly, the convenor of the event, in his address on the occasion claimed that the water from the rivers in the war-torn Russia & Ukraine as well as those in China and Pakistan was procured for this holy cause.
Jolly said the special drive, which took more than two and a half years including the worst phase of the Covid pandemic, denotes the faith of people across the globe in Lord Ram.
"Not only Hindus, but Muslims, Christians and even Jews of all the seven continents cooperated in the drive," he said.

The water from Pakistan was first sent by the Hindus of Pakistan to Dubai and then from Dubai it was brought to Delhi, from where Jolly brought it to Ayodhya.
