Jaipur: The customs officials at the Jaipur International Airport seized 756 gram gold worth Rs 46 lakh on Sunday morning from a passenger from
Riyadh, said officials.
Officials said that a passenger reached Jaipur on Sunday morning from Riyadh via Sharjah when during screening he was caught.
“On Sunday officers of Jaipur customs intercepted a passenger who arrived from Riyad via Sharjah by flight No. G9435 with gold weighing 756 grams and valued at Rs 46,64,520. The gold was recovered from him. It was concealed in a carton box of their baggage,” said Neelima Khorwal, deputy commissioner for customs.
Officials said the gold was seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. In October last, 500 gram gold worth Rs 25 lakh was seized from a passenger who came from Sharjah. TNN
