Although the official Earth Day has passed, the St. Clair County community can still party with nature at the annual Earth Fair.

Earth Fair will take place Friday and Saturday at Goodells County Park, located at 8254 County Park Drive in Kimball Township. People will be able to participate in a variety of activities, visit 50 different vendors and enjoy treats from six concession stands.

“We want people to connect with and take away these phenomenal environmental ideas that our vendors have to offer,” said Sarah Davidson-Nelson, one of the Earth Fair organizers.

Regardless of when Earth Day takes place, the fair is annually scheduled for the last Saturday of April.

School groups arrive at Earth Fair Friday, April 26, 2019 at Goodells County Park. The annual event gives visitors a variety of informative activities and indoor and outdoor exhibits aimed to focus on raising environmental awareness.

The Earth Fair is partnering with the Blue Water Area Transit to provide free shuttle service to Goodells County Park. People can be picked up at the Maritime Center, located at 51 Court St. in Port Huron, the Downtown Port Huron Transfer Center, located at 720 McMorran Blvd. or Vinckier Foods, located at 5275 Lapeer Road in Kimball Township.

Bus service on Friday will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Two new events have made their way into the weekend line up for the fair. On Saturday, people will be able to participate in a park-wide scavenger hunt through the free app Goosechase. The first five winners will receive a prize basket and a $100 gift card.

The other new event is an ironworks demonstration from Waterman Ironworks.

“We thought it would bridge the gap between the environmental activities and the historical village part of the fair,” Davidson-Nelson said.

The following is the list of activities and when they take place.

Friday activities:

  • Huron-Clinton Metroparks Mobile Learning Center featuring mammals and reptiles from Michigan, all day
  • Tree and shrub sales, all day
  • Butterfly House exhibit, all day
  • Farm Museum tours, all day
