Opposition parties to fight united against BJP in 2024, says Mamata Banerjee after meeting Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav

Banerjee also added that the opposition needs to send a message that they are united and that she has no objections and she want the BJP to become zero. Attacking at BJP she added that they (BJP) has become a big hero with the support of media and lies.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today along with Bihar deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in efforts being made to cobble together a coherent Opposition response against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party,.

Trinamool Congress chief Banerjee said all like-minded parties have to come together and fight the BJP unitedly when she spoke to the media after her meeting with Kumar.

The Bihar CM was in Kolkata with his deputy Yadav to work towards greater opposition convergence with not everything final given the murmurs of disapproval coming from the Nationalist Congress Party vis-a-vis opposition unity for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Kumar and Yadav met Banerjee in West Bengal state secretariat Nabanna earlier today.

Post the meeting, the Trinamool chief, who had earlier said her party would contest alone in the 2024 parliamentary elections with Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, said all opposition parties are going to fight the elections united against the BJP and that there is no personal ego and they aim to work collectively.

With Kumar and Yadav by her side, Banerjee said that she requested Kumar that as Jayaprakash Narayan’s movement started from Bihar, an all-party meeting should be held in Bihar, where they can decide their further plans.

Banerjee added the opposition needs to send a message that they are united and that she has no objections and she wanted the BJP to become a zero. Attacking the BJP, she added that they (BJP) has become a big hero with the support of media and lies.

The Bihar CM termed the meeting positive and that they discussed about the opposition parties coming together and about the preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Kumar also added all that would be done next would be in the nation’s interest and slammed the BJP, saying they indulge in publicity and are doing nothing for the country’s development.

Kumar and Tejashwi are expected to fly to Lucknow to meet Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to discuss opposition unity. Yadav had also met with Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata during Samajwadi Party’s national conference.

In a move to forge a grand opposition alliance to fight against the BJP, the Bihar Chief Minister is in  full action since the start of this month, as during the second  week of this month Kumar was in Delhi along with Tejashwi by his side where they met Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Ganhdi and later also met AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Karnataka elections scheduled for May 10 has got the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress swung into full action with all of the national and state political leaders being seen tough in the ground campaigning for their respective parties.

On Monday, amid the Karnataka state assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a massive roadshow in Karnataka.

Shah held a roadshow with hundreds and thousands of BJP workers and the public joining him in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district in Gundlupete.

The key strategist of the the ruling party is on a three day visit to the election bound state starting Sunday. Earlier today, he also visited Sri Chamundeshwari Devi temple in Karnataka’s Mysuru.

The regional Janata Dal(Secular) headed by former PM H.D. Devegowda, is also putting in all efforts to gather the votes from its definite constituencies.

The former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Sunday also held a mega roadshow gathering a huge public in the state.

This election stands very crucial for the BJP as its the only southern state where the party is in power currently and it holds high hopes putting all its hard work for a second term amid the anti-incumbency.

This election is also being seen as a test round ahead of the 2024 general elections, which can give an indication towards how significantly is the party present among its voters in the southern region.

It is leaving no stone unturned to retain the state, the BJP president JP Nadda is scheduled for a three day visit to the state from today with various roadshows, public rally’s in agenda.

The mega election campaign of BJP is going to start with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit who is likely to embark on April 29 and will campaign in Chikodi, Kittur and Belagavi along with the Uttara Kannada district. PM Modi will also again be on Karnataka on May 03.

Amid the high political buzz of National Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar joining ruling BJP in Maharashtra, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar has finally broken his silence over the matter.

The veteran politician has made a tough statement saying if someone is involved in forming a strategy and breaking away, they must be doing that but he said if he and his party leaders have to take a stand then they will be strong while taking any.

Pawar also denied speaking any further on the matter saying it is not right as they did not have had any such discussions on this.

It’s been almost more than a week since the speculations of Ajit Pawar along with over a dozen of his MLAs joining BJP, that has been all across media, a matter which has now again put forth the Maharashtra politics into circles.

As per reports, some MLAs supporting Ajit Pawar earlier hinted on this that they are ready to move forward with any decision that Pawar takes in the near future.

On Sunday, Senior Pawar’s daughter and LS MP Supriya Sule supported Ajit’s statement regarding his chief ministerial ambitions.

Sule said that there is nothing wrong about having a dream or ambition in politics and one saying openly about it.

Earlier during an interview when Ajit Pawar was asked that whether he looks himself as chief minister of Maharashtra in 2024, he replied saying not 2024, but he is ready for the post even now.

Sule, when was asked about the speculations of her brother joining BJP, she amused and replied that she is quite busy with the state’s development and rather than focusing on the agrarian crises and farmer issues which should be high on agenda, there are rumors about Ajit Pawar in the media.

Ajit Pawar is a senior leader of the NCP, he is also the nephew of Sharad Pawar, held the deputy chief minister post of Maharashtra four times and currently is the leader of opposition in the state legislative assembly.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today.

Janata Dal(United) supremo Kumar is likely to fly to West Bengal to meet his counterpart Banerjee, the expected meeting is being seen as a part of the opposition unity for the fight against center ruling BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Reports claimed that the meeting would be a closed-door meeting between both the chief ministers with an agenda to discuss the strategy for the upcoming 2024 polls.

Kumar is likely to meet Banerjee at her chamber in the West Bengal state secretariat Nabanna.

Earlier this month, Kumar was also on a trip to Delhi, where he held meeting Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with RJD leader and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav.

The meeting of Kumar with Gandhi and Kharge, created a lot of buzz across the media of opposition coming together to fight against the BJP.

Gandhi while posting a picture termed it a historic meeting and sent a message that they (opposition) stands together and that they will fight united for the country.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on the same day, also paid a visit to AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in Delhi where both had a brief meeting and later addressed the reporters outside.

Kumar while his visit to Delhi told to the media that he will make all efforts pssobile to unite the leaders of all the oppsoitions parties.

Last month, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee also held meetings with Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav was on a visit to Kolkata to take part in his party’s national conference, when both the leaders met and Banerjee visited Odisha when she was called on chief minister Patnaik.
