LinkedIn Live: How Volvo made the EX90 its safest model ever

Volvo says the new EX90 flagship electric SUV is the safest model the automaker has ever built.

The person who has played a key role in this major achievement is safety center boss Asa Haglund, who joined Volvo in 2004 as a crash analyst and has held a range of key roles the led to he promotion to the division's top job in February.

She will join Automotive News Europe Managing Editor Douglas A. Bolduc for a LinkedIn Live chat on Tuesday, April 25 at 17:00 CEST.

The two will discuss the key features that make the EX90 special. That includes the sensors, software and computing power that work together to create what Volvo calls an "invisible shield of safety."

They will also talk about a key feature inside the car, which is the EX90's interior radar system that is designed to ensure that no one is unknowingly left behind in the car. A core aim of the system is to stop hot car deaths, which government statistics show have taken the lives of more than 900 children in the U.S. since 1998.
