Everybody falls sometimes, but it's how you get up that matters most.
Local coaching legend Wade Phillips embodied that lesson Sunday night on the Houston Roughnecks' sideline during an XFL game against the Arlington Renegades.
Phillips took a tumble in the first quarter of the game after a Renegade player was tackled on the sideline and ran into Phillips. However, the 75-year-old Southeast Texan immediately popped up with a big smile on his face and his hands raised in the air.
"Who else’s coach takes a mean hit like this and get’s up like a stud?" the Roughnecks wrote on their Twitter account.
You can watch how it all went down here.
Phillips, a Port Neches-Groves graduate and former head coach of the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, has led the Roughnecks to a 7-3 record so far this season. The Roughnecks won Sunday's game, 25-9.
