How to save WhatsApp messages from disappearing using Keep in Chat

After testing the Keep in Chat feature for a while, WhatsApp has finally started rolling it out to all users across the globe. The feature is now available on both Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp app and using the feature users can save messages from chats and prevent it from getting deleted or disappearing. Pre-requisites:
Latest version of WhatsApp
Make sure that Disappearing Messages feature is turned on for the chat

Things to keep in mind while using Keep in Chat feature on WhatsApp
First and foremost, the future is now available on the latest version of WhatsApp. So, update your WhatsApp app before proceeding with the steps.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that the feature is an extension of Disappearing Messages and only works when the Disappearing Messages is enabled for a chat.

Also, the sender of the message has veto power to unkeep a message that you’ve saved. Once the sender has ‘unkeep’ a message, the message will be removed from the bookmark from your phone and you won’t be able to save it again.

Steps to save a message using Keep in Chat feature on WhatsApp

Open the updated WhatsApp app on your phone
Now, navigate to any chat which has Disappearing Message turned on
Then, scroll through the chat and find the chat that you want to save
Long-press on it to get the options at the top and choose the bookmark icon at the top, placed besides the Delete icon
After this, the message will be bookmarked and show a bookmark icon on it.
