VARANASI: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called
up on the Bharatiya Janata Party cadres to go among people and seek votes citing improved law and order, development and best basic facilities and infrastructure being ensured by the government.
After reviewing the party's preparations for urban local bodies election for Varanasi Municipal Corporation and Gangapur Nagar Panchayat at a meeting with BJP workers at its Kashi regional unit office in Rohaniya area on Sunday, Yogi said, "We will seek blessings of people mainly on these three merits. People have seen atmosphere of the state and country change under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past nine years."
Yogi, who also sought feedback from the party's divisional unit president, said not only mayor. BJP has to ensure majority in ULB houses too. Guiding cadres for convincing people, he also sought details regarding poll management committees formed in each local body of regional unit.
Highlighting how Kashi has been transformed with addition of modern amenities without disturbing its soul and spirituality, Yogi said Kashi's image is shining and spreading light across the globe. Before the series of G-20 summits started, the city had already hosted NRI meet, he said, mentioning the crowd he witnessed during his Kashi Vishwanath Dham visit. He said it was the responsibility of people of Kashi to take care of visitors from all parts of the world.
"It's a proud moment for us that we have the leadership of Modi. All development plans and projects are reaching Kashi. Triple-engine government is must to ensure all these plans and projects are implemented properly," said Yogi, adding, triple-engine government will guarantee development with the speed of bullet train. He asked the cadres to meet the beneficiaries of government schemes while meeting people in order to mobilise them mentioning how benefits of schemes had reached without any discrimination.
Yogi asked the party office-bearers and workers to reach voters and focus on door-to-door campaign as well as 'nukkad' (street) meetings. He said no section of society should be left out during the campaign. Yogi also assigned tasks to the MPs and MLAs to camp in their areas concerned. He also asked to assign tasks to the workers from rural belts.
Earlier, after his chopper landed at police lines, Yogi reached Kashi Vishwanath Dham and offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Yogi visited Satua Baba Ashram at Manikarnika Ghat and offered floral tributes to Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das Maharaj's mother, who died recently. Later, he offered prayers at Kaal Bhairo temple.
