Ugar Sugar Works(down 3.31%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.66%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 2.16%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.04%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.98%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.91%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.88%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.86%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.80%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.79%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 119.35 points up at 17743.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 401.04 points at 60056.1.
HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 6.67%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 4.59%), Wipro(up 2.69%), Titan Company Ltd(up 2.38%), ICICI Bank(up 2.16%), State Bank of India(up 2.11%), Axis Bank(up 2.09%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.7%), Grasim Industries(up 1.65%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.47%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.32%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.29%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.29%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.2%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.08%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.04%), UPL Ltd(down 0.66%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.65%), Eicher Motors(down 0.56%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.41%) closed in the red.
