Vinay Kulkarni approaches Dharwad Rural voters through campaign videos

DHARWAD: Vinay Kulkarni, a Congress candidate contesting from Dharwad 71 (Rural) constituency, who is barred from entering Dharwad, is now reaching out to people in his constituency via videos and social media.
As the court restricted Vinay Kulkarni from entering Dharwad district in connection with ZP member Yogeshgowda Goudar's murder case, Kulkarni is now relying on videos to reach out to voters. His wife Shivaleela Kulkarni, block presidents and party workers are now wooing voters.
Now, the Congress candidate is releasing videos of 2-3 minutes duration with a message for his voters. He also requests them to vote for him.
Ashif, a Congress party worker who handles social media and video production for Vinay Kulkarni told STOI: "Following a court order, our candidate is not visiting our district. However, we are trying to convey his message to voters through videos. We are now circulating 2-3 minute videos where our candidate Vinay Kulkarni requests voters to support him. He also highlights the work he has done for the constituency as an MLA and former minister. He credits his political career to the support and affection showered on him by the people in his constituency. He hasasked them to support him again just like before,” he said.
During our campaign rallies and meetings with voters in villages, we will also make a video call to Vinay. He will speak to the people through video calls as well as interact with voters seeking their support. Our idea is now receiving a positive response as people appreciate our efforts and promise to cast their votes to ensure Kulkarni's victory in the election, he added.
Rural block Congress president Ishwar Shivalli said: "We are circulating videos of Vinay Kulkarni among voters to take his message to them. It helps us reach out to voters and make our candidate’s presence felt in the constituency during our meetings."
Vinay Kulkarni said: "I am making videos appealing to voters to support me. I am also reaching out to voters in my constituency. As I am restricted from entering Dharwad district, I hold meetings in Savadatti and Kittur of Belagavi district. This is close to Dharwad district. I am meeting my well-wishers, supporters and party workers to send my message to voters."
