Cleric dies minutes after leading Eid prayers

Vadodara: A cleric leading the Eid prayers in the Idgah Masjid in Godhra town died soon after the prayers on Saturday morning.
Imam of the Abrar Masjid, Maulana Mufti Idris Haji, was leading the prayers where thousands of other members of the minority community were present on the occasion of Eid. The imam suddenly collapsed after the prayers got over.
It is believed that he died due to a severe heart attack. Mufti Idris was popular among members of the community in Godhra as well as in other parts of the state and country too.
He was frequently invited to religious gatherings across the country and abroad. His last rites were performed later in the day.
