AHMEDABAD: The state education board will conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test 2 (TET-2) today. According to the board data, 2,84,523 have registered for TET-2. TET-1 was conducted on April 15 and 86,025 candidates took it.
TET, the eligibility test for a teacher's job in government schools, is conducted twice a year. TET-1 is for a job in Class 1-5 and TET-2 is for Class 6-8.
Sources said that the question paper bundles will be installed with GPS trackers while they are being transported from the strongrooms to the examination centres. The examination will be conducted from 3pm to 5pm. The notification for the TET examination was issued in October 2022 and was expected to be conducted in February or March, however, due to some reasons the examination was delayed to April.
On Friday, blind candidates taking TET got relief after approaching the Gujarat high court against the state government's decision to not allow them to use scribes with educational qualifications beyond Class 10.
One candidate moved the HC through advocate Harsh Rawal complaining about the state authorities' insistence on not bringing writers except those who have cleared only Class 10, particularly when there is a dearth of writers, and the rule permits the use of scribe a level below the qualification required in the exam. tnn
