UP minister Nand Gopal Gupta targets Prayagraj BJP over induction of SP leader into party fold

PRAYAGRAJ: Nand Gopal Gupta, minister for industrial development, export promotion, NRI, investment promotion, has targeted Prayagraj BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leadership over the joining of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Raees Chandra Shukla into party fold in presence of deputy CM Keshav Prasad Mauyra and termed it a major conspiracy and a serious issue.
SP leader Raees Chandra Shukla has switched his loyalties to BJP on Saturday in a function held in presence of deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
UP cabinet minister in an official statement asserted, "Instead of taking the local party MLA into confidence and without giving any prior and formal information, the joining of SP leader Raees Chandra Shukla into party fold during a function was completely insulting and objectionable”. It was ridiculous to open door for Raees Chandra Shula into BJP at a time when Nandi had defeated Shukla in 2022 state assembly election from Allahabad south assembly constituency.
Nandi, however, cited the entry of Shukla in BJP was entirely illegal and alleged “Apart from disregarding and defying local MLA, the joining of rival camp candidate into BJP fold was a very serious issue as well as a deep conspiracy."
He said that it was against the ethics, principles and democratic values of BJP and without naming anyone, he said that there are some people who wanted to run party as “private limited”. He also alleged that these people are constantly damaging party by their obstinacy and condemned their arbitrary approach.
"The entry of SP leader into BJP fold was party’s conceptual and methodology,” said Nandi.
