Daltonganj: Thirty-two MBBS students of 99 enrolled in the first-year of Medinirai Medical College (MMC) have failed in the examination held by the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU), Daltonganj.
A total of 67 students passed in the university result copy signed by the controller of the examinations of NPU, Sheo Pujan Singh on Thusday. The first-year exam consists of anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, each having two theory papers of 100 marks each besides 100 marks for practical.
The exam ended in the second week of February. MMC principal in-charge Dr Dharmender Kumar this is the highest number of unsuccessful candidates in the first-year MBBS batch of the medical college that started in 2019, he lamented. Sources in the NPU said the number of failures in the MBBS first-year examination used to be between eight and 12.
Dr Kumar said, “We will wait for the cross list that would be provided to us by the NPU to know the subjects in which the 32 could not do well.” NPU sources said the list would be provided to the college by Thursday.
