Open platform for performing artists inaugurated in Kolkata's New Town
KOLKATA: A one-of-a-kind open platform for young performing artists has been initiated at New Town in Kolkata where young artists — musicians, dancers, comedians, and storytellers — can come and perform on the stage.
An initiative by BandEdge Talent Agency for aspiring artists and supported by HIDCO, the open stage will be there from 5.30pm every Saturday till the end of May at the Community Zone opposite Clock Tower at New Town City Square.
The event – BandEdge TalentZ’ own – was inaugurated on Saturday by HIDCO MD Debasis Sen as Sidhu and Pata of Bangla band Cactus, restaurateur and Lakkhichhara band member Debaditya Chaudhury and Koushik Chakraborty of Bangla band Prithibi encouraged the young performers with their presence and an impromptu jam session for the fans.
There were musical performances by several young talents throughout the evening.
