Police: Man found shot in his car in Florence subdivision was killed during fight

After a physical altercation in a Boone County subdivision, one man is dead and another is accused of murder, according to Florence Police Department.

Florence police said in a news release they responded to Winthrop Circle at 9:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired and an active fight.

Dan Likiko, 21, of Florence, was found with gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of his car. Medical personnel pronounced him dead shortly after authorities arrived on scene.

Early investigation by Florence police shows a fight a block over on Wintergreen Court led to the shooting.

Wayne Haggard, 38, was arrested and taken to the Boone County jail early Sunday on a murder charge in connection to Likiko's death.

Police said Haggard told investigators he had shot the victim.
