Support agri devpt in Quepem, Altone tells Shirodkar

Margao: Congress Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa on Sunday hoped that WRD minister Subhash Shirodkar would not let Quepem constituency lag in terms of development even as he added that Shirodkar’s Congress origins would not let him discriminate against Quepem for being represented by the opposition.
“The services of the WRD are crucial for sustenance of agriculture in Quepem constituency,” said D’Costa. “I am 100% certain the WRD minister will not discriminate against Quepem as he, as well as the former MLA (Chandrakant Kavlekar), belonged to Congress until not so long ago.” He was speaking at the launch of the construction work of a bandhara in Shiroti, Quepem, recently. Kavlekar was also present on the occasion.
Shirodkar, speaking on the occasion, said he would ensure that agriculture and horticulture get all the required support from his department. He said it was his mission to bring more areas under the cover of agriculture. He stressed on the need to foster a spirit of cooperation between the WRD and agriculture department.
Kavlekar also spoke on the need for collaboration between the WRD and agriculture department to ensure the welfare of farmersHe pledged his support to the initiatives of the Quepem MLA.
