Three die in two hit-&-run cases in Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer: In two cases of hit and run three persons died on Saturday morning in Jaisalmer district while two were injured.
In the first case an unidentified vehicle hit a group of devotees who were walking to Ramdevra, killing one of them on the spot while two others were seriously injured. In another incident two youth walking on the roadside in Jaisalmer were crushed by a truck and both died on the spot. The truck driver ran away from the spot leaving the truck. The father of the deceased has lodged a police case against the truck driver for killing two youth by carelessly driving the truck. Police have handed over the bodies to the respective families after the postmortem.
Kotwali police investigating officer Rajkumar said that two youths from Rawra village in Phalodi Karna Ram (20) and Veerma Ram (17) had come to Jaisalmer to attend a Oad community programme on Friday night. In the wee hours both youths were walking on the roadside to go to the toilet when the truck hit them. They were seriously injured and taken to Jawahar hospital in Jaisalmer where the doctors declared them dead.
In another incident near Ramdevra, the Ramdevra police said that around 10 devotees from Khara village in Jodhpur were walking to Ramdevra when at around 5am, 15 kms before Ramdevra a vehicle hit them and droOne of the devotees, Bharmalram (25) died on the spot while Bhanwarlal (26) and Sunil (17) were injured.
Bhanwarlal was referred to Jodhpur due to serious condition. Police registering the case have started searching for the vehicle.
