PATNA: The Covid curve continued to move northward in Bihar as 198 fresh cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin released by the state health department on Saturday.
Of the 198 fresh cases, maximum 71 were registered in Patna district, followed by 25 in Bhagalpur, 22 in Gaya and 20 in Purnia.
As per the data shared by the health department, 198 new cases were registered from 52,328 samples tested in the last 24 hours and the state's positivity rate stood at 0.38% on Saturday.
The state had recorded 133 new cases on Friday against 48,961 samples tested and the positivity rate was 0.27%.
The number of active Covid cases in the state has increased to 860. The state was at the 15th position in the country on Saturday as far as Covid caseload is concerned.
Altogether 12,258 new Covid-19 cases were registered in the country on Saturday, with a maximum of 2,413 cases in Kerala, followed by Delhi (1,758), Haryana (1,348), Maharashtra (993), and Uttar Pradesh (988).
As far as Covid vaccination is concerned, over 15.73 crore vaccines have been administered in the state so far, including 7.35 crore first dose, 6.79 crore second dose and 1.59 lakh precautionary dose.
