Even as Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is set to address a party rally at Pachora in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district Sunday, the party has claimed that the Eknath Shinde government in the state will collapse in 15 days.
“The death warrant of the Shinde government…The government will collapse in 15 days,” said Sena (UBT) chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut while speaking to reporters in Jalgaon where the party is gearing up for its show of strength.
Raut said he had earlier predicted that the Shinde government would collapse in 15 days. “But that did not happen because the Supreme Court hearing in the matter got postponed. Now that the court verdict will be out, the Shinde government will collapse…,” he said.
On Saturday, Raut claimed that the BJP had told the chief minister to pack his bags. He was responding to NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s remark that he was ready to stake claim to the chief minister’s post. “Not just in 2024, even now I am ready to stake claim to the chief minister’ post,” Ajit had said during the course of an interview by the Sakal Group in Pimpri Chinchwad on Friday.
Meanwhile, even as Thackeray is set to address a party rally in Pachora on Sunday, Jalgaon has been witnessing a verbal war between the two Sena factions. Maharashtra Water Supply Minister Gulabrao Patil, who belongs to the Shinde Sena, said his camp can topple Uddhav Thackeray’s rally by pelting stones. Hitting back, Raut alleged that Patil was involved in a multi-crore scam in the purchase of equipment for hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic.
