DHARWAD: Ramzan was celebrated with fervour in Dharwad on Saturday. After sighting the moon on Friday, the ‘roza’ ended and Ramzan was celebrated on Saturday.
A large number of Muslims participated in mass namaz organized at Idgah Maidan near Saidapur here. Rafeeq Ahmed and Wasim Khatib presided over the namaz session.
Speaking on the occasion, the religious heads said Ramzan is the most sacred month of the year in the Islamic culture and fasting during Ramzan is known to strengthen one’s relationship with god.
Prayers, charity and generosity make the month even more pious, they said.
