Nagpur: Unidentified burglars decamped with CCTV cameras, recorders, data storage device accessories and other material worth around ₹4.21 lakh from two shops in Rajat Plaza complex on Ghat Road.
The burglary, which came to fore on Thursday, has now become a challenge for the cops as the miscreants have sneaked away with the data storage devices of the CCTV cameras installed inside the shops so as to not leave any evidence behind.
According to police, two adjoining shops, owned by a former cop’s son Nandkishor Tiwari, were opened by the miscreants using duplicate keys. Police suspect insider involvement as the burglars seemed well-aware about the place where the recorders and CCTV cameras were installed.
“Someone having knowledge about the CCTV camera systems and it’s market would only be interested in these electronic surveillance devices,” said a cop, adding other CCTV cameras in the vicinity have captured a small light carrier vehicle fleeing the spot.
