Govt school gets rainwater harvester
Ludhiana: With an aim to conserve water, the Women Entrepreneurs Forum (WEF) of Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) on Friday set up a rainwater harvesting system at Government Senior Secondary School, Bharat Nagar. The project was inaugurated by MLA Gurpreet Gogi, along with the women entrepreneurs who contributed for this cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Gogi said, “The green efforts of WEF need to be replicated by all other business associations, as if we are able to successfully set up similar rain water harvesting systems in all the government schools even within Ludhiana, we will be able to counter the problem of water shortage and depletion of water table, which is going to turn into a major crisis in the coming years.”
School principal Jaswinder Kaur appreciated the initiative.
