With India set to become the world's most populous nation, it's time for its people to be more environmentally conscious.
On Earth Day 2023, search engine giant Google transformed its homepage with a leafy twist to its doodle. The green doodle has been created using real leaves. The artist wasn't known.
The animated doodle shows pencil sketches of various animals performing everyday green tasks to help the environment. As a buzzing bee indulges in recycling glass bottles with a bear, a pair of a bird and a bumble bee get busy installing the solar panel. The doodle also shows a bunny rabbit and mouse planting and watering trees. A croaky frog enjoys its basketful of local produce.

With its leafy doodle, Google wants people to make sustainable choices and fight climate change. "Today’s annual Earth Day Doodle highlights how individuals and communities can work together in big and small ways to take action against climate change. On this day, people all over the globe honor the achievements of the environmental movement and consider areas where further climate justice is needed," the Doodle website read.
Google also suggested a spectrum of actions people can take daily to make a real difference. "Around the world, people are increasingly searching for ways to be more sustainable," the statement read.
Some day-to-day actions include: Air drying laundry instead of using the dryer at home Changing food habits and consuming a plant-based diet as much as possible Making small changes to your daily commute. Walking or taking your bicycle to work instead of driving, when possible Resolving to be more sustainable to avoid the worst effects of climate change
