A 75-year-old woman who was undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19, died on Wednesday.
COIMBATORE: A 75-year-old woman who was undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19, died on Wednesday.
A health official said the woman from Rathinapuri had underlying health complications and was treated in the hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on April 15 after she tested positive for Covid-19. However, she died without responding to treatment on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 54 people tested positive for Covid in Coimbatore on Friday. With this, the number of active cases in the district has gone up to 405. According to an official source, 66 people were tested positive for the viral infection on Thursday, when swab samples were collected from 548 people. "At 12%, Coimbatore had the highest test positivity rate on Thursday."
